Immunizing Your Adult Patients

OVERVIEW
This CME activity, “Immunizing Your Adult Patients”, was originally presented live in San Antonio, TX on November 12, 2021 at the 2021 Best Practices in Primary Care CME conference. During this activity, the faculty reviews the different types of immunizations, discusses the importance of shared clinical decision-making, and reviews the current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for adult immunizations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Review the different types of immunizations
- Explain the concept of “shared clinical decision-making” with regards to immunization recommendations
- Discuss the current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations
for adult immunizations

Accreditation – AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™
PHYSICIANS

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for Category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 1.0 hour of Category 1 credit for completing this program.
NURSE PRACTITIONERS
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
All other healthcare professionals will be issued a certificate of participation.
American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 Medical Knowledge MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
To receive CME credit and/or MOC points, you MUST complete the activity and the evaluation form. For ABIM MOC points, your information will be shared with the ABIM through PCN’s ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS). Please allow 6-8 weeks for your MOC points to appear on your ABIM records.
