This complimentary CME activity will provide primary care clinicians with an update on osteoporosis and bone health. Current screening guidelines, modalities, and current prevention & treatment regimens will be highlighted. This activity was recorded from the live CME webcast held on October 26, 2022.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

• Describe the burden of disease presented by osteoporosis and the clinical sequelae of osteoporotic fractures
• Identify patients at high risk of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture and select evidence-based screening and diagnostic modalities
• Recognize the efficacy, risks, and benefits of established, new, and emerging treatments for osteoporosis

All other healthcare professionals will be issued a certificate of participation.

American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC)

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 Medical Knowledge MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

To receive CME credit and/or MOC points, you MUST complete the activity and the evaluation form. For ABIM MOC points, your information will be shared with the ABIM through PCN’s ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).
